Narwhal Carving

Here is my newest acquisition - a narwhal carving from soapstone from the Arctic Bay area. It is easily the largest carving I've purchased to date. It stands about 11 inches high and is 17 inches long (24 inches when the tusk is included) - and darn heavy. Most of the carvings I've bought in the past and shipped South have been carved from either green or black soapstone. I love the colouration of this particular piece.
